Tracks 3 & 7 taken from "Call of the Broken Souls" album (Det Germanske Folket, 2008)
Tracks 4 & 8 taken from "All Roads Lead to Death" album (Xtreem Music, 2010)
Tracks 2 & 6 taken from "Return to Deep Lethargy" album (Unexploded Records, 2012)
Track 9 was recorded during the "All Roads Lead to Death" sessions and
can only be found in this compilation
Track 10 was recorded during the "Return to Deep Lethargy" sessions and
was included as a bonus track in the limited digipack edition of that album
Track 11 was recorded during the "Call of the Broken Souls" sessions and
was included as a bonus track in the re-release of that album.
Track 12 originally to be found at "All Roads Lead to Death".

Écouter un album de black metal dépressif est un acte volontaire qui ne relève pas du hasard : on passe un pacte avec l'artiste et on accepte même l'idée que ce soit une expérience ultime. Drawn to Descend, deuxième album de Ov Hollowness, refuse ce système d'accord : s'il porte ce nom, c'est parce qu'avec l'introduction de riffs thrash metal, des mélodies catchy et parfois du chant clair, le black metal de ce one-man band nous attrape par le col et on a même envie d'y retourner une fois fini ! Faire passer le black par un équipement daté pour rendre le son brut de décoffrage, j'ai longtemps pensé que c'était Staurophagia le maître en la matière mais Obsidian Tongue l'a fait avant lui et tout aussi bien dans son premier opus, Volume I: Subradiant Architecture. On se retrouve ainsi avec un black metal qui rend hommage à l'école norvégienne, entre poésie ésotérique ("Approaching the Well", "It Dangles from the Bones") et guitares furieuses, mais il est aussi très moderne. Un bon album ! Jordan Vauvert
